Blue Apron Meals

Spiced Pork Burgers with Pickled Beets & Cone Cabbage Slaw

K: 5 out of 5 stars. The burgers were beyond amazing. I never would have thought to use pickled beets instead of lettuce or tomatoes. The slaw was very good too. I didn’t cut it small enough which made it hard to eat, but beyond user error I could see no flaws. I was scared it was going to be goopy like some bad restaurant coleslaws, but it was not. It also had a nice zing to it due to the Apple Cider Vinegar. Extras of the Cone Cabbage Slaw.

P: 5 out of 5 stars.  I loved the inclusion of beets, I would have not done that on my own. It was nice having a Pork instead of Beef burger. The slaw was a little difficult to “shovel,” but was still very flavorful and enjoyable to eat. I actually put my slaw in my burger which gave it an extra kick.

Carmelized Onion & Kale Quiches with Frisee & Pear Salad

K: 4 out of 5 stars.  The Quiches were worth it! The instructions for carmelizing the onions were easy to follow and the quiche itself was really fulfilling. The Pear Salad was alright, but nothing horribly special. Extras of the salad.

P: 4 out of 5 stars. I had a great time watching Kerstin caramelize the onions, and they tasted professional. I think the goat cheese as garnish was the best part, and it was not overdone or overpowering. I did not like this salad, I felt like it has been the worst side offered so far by Blue Apron.

Pan-Seared Chicken with Roasted Honeynut Squash & Apple

K: 5 out of 5 stars.  Every single piece of this meal was mouthwatering. I love the roasted veggies, I was taught how to make crispy chicken skin, and the garnish enhanced every single bite. There were no extras.

P: 5 out of 5 stars. I think that the protein serving was light, but was made up for in the side portions. The bitterness and crunch of the almonds balanced out the starchiness of the potatoes.
